Graduation Flowers, Hand-Tied in London
A graduation runs on a tight schedule – the ceremony, the photographs on the steps, the lunch afterwards – and flowers have to fit into that day rather than complicate it. We build our graduation bouquets to travel and to photograph: firm stems, a shape that holds when it is carried through a crowded hall, and a wrap that still looks right two hours later. Every bouquet is tied by hand in our London studio and delivered across the city the same day.
London Graduates Twice a Year
The summer ceremonies run through July, and a second, quieter round of winter graduations falls in November and December. It is the same congratulation, but the weather changes what works. Deep reds, burgundy, cream and warm golds sit better against a winter coat than pale summer pastels, and flowers conditioned in a cold studio hold far better on a long journey home in the dark. The winter round is also compressed into a handful of dates, so if the ceremony is in November or December, order a few days ahead rather than on the morning.
Choosing the Bouquet
There is no single correct flower for a graduation. Roses read as a classic congratulation and photograph well from any angle. Sunflowers and bright mixed bouquets suit someone who wants the day to look like a celebration. Orchids, lilies and structured arrangements feel more grown-up – a good choice when the graduate is starting a first job the following week. Two practical notes: a mid-size hand-tied bouquet is much easier to carry through photographs than a tall wrapped sheaf, and if the flowers are going straight home rather than to the ceremony, a flower box or a vase arrangement saves the graduate hunting for a vase at the end of a long day.
Delivery to a Venue, a Home or a Restaurant
We deliver across London the same day on orders placed by 10 pm, every day between 8 am and 10 pm, and delivery is free on orders from £99. If the flowers are going to a ceremony venue, give us the building and hall name and a mobile number for the person receiving them – halls rarely let a delivery through while a ceremony is running, and a phone number is what makes the hand-over work. Many people find it easier to send the flowers to the graduate’s home for the evening, or to the restaurant where the family is celebrating afterwards. Tell us the timing in the order and we will call to confirm the details.
Flowers, Balloons and a Card
A graduation is one of the occasions where a bouquet on its own can look understated. Our graduation balloon sets – gold numbers, congratulation sets and the owl set – are made to be photographed alongside the flowers, and a handwritten card costs nothing to add. If you have something specific in mind, in the graduate’s university colours or built around one flower, send us a bespoke request or message us on WhatsApp and we will put it together.
Graduation Flower Questions
Can you deliver graduation flowers on the same day?
Yes. Orders placed by 10 pm are delivered across London the same day, and we deliver every day between 8 am and 10 pm. For a ceremony taking place in the morning, order the day before so the bouquet is ready first thing.
Can you deliver to a graduation ceremony venue?
We can, but tell us the building and hall name and give us a mobile number for the person receiving the flowers. Venues rarely allow a delivery through while a ceremony is running, so in practice the hand-over happens by phone. If that feels risky, send the flowers to the graduate’s home for the evening or to the restaurant where you are celebrating afterwards.
When should I order for a winter graduation in November or December?
Two to five days ahead. Winter ceremonies are packed into a small number of dates, and the seasonal stems – burgundy roses, deep reds, warm golds – go first on those days. Same-day delivery is still available, but the choice is wider if you order early.
