Birthday Flower Delivery in London, Same Day or Booked Ahead
Birthday flower delivery runs seven days a week from our studio at Unit 3, The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY. Order by 10 PM for same-day delivery across London and Greater London, including weekends and bank holidays. Anywhere else in the UK takes two to three working days, so give us the date and we will work back from it.
Booking ahead is worth doing for a birthday specifically, and not for the reason people assume. It is not that we run out — it is that a birthday is the one occasion where arriving a day late is worse than not sending anything. Choose the delivery date at checkout, leave the card message, and the bouquet gets made up on the morning of that date rather than sitting made since the day you ordered.
If the birthday has already passed and you have realised late, say so on the card. A bouquet that arrives the day after with “I am a day late and I am sorry” on it lands better than one that pretends to be on time.
Flowers and Balloons Together: The Most Common Birthday Order

Two practical things to know. Balloons are London only — helium sets do not survive a courier network, so they go on our own delivery run and nowhere else; the flowers can go anywhere in the UK. And number balloons are the part people forget to check: if you want a specific age spelled out, order the digits you need rather than assuming a set includes them.
Balloons change who the gift is for. A bouquet is an adult gift; a bouquet with a balloon cluster is a household event, which is why it is the standard order for a child’s birthday, a milestone, or a delivery to an office where the point is partly that everyone sees it arrive. If the recipient would find that mortifying, send flowers alone.
The same logic applies to chocolates and soft toys, which sit in this collection as add-ons rather than standalone gifts: they are ordered alongside a bouquet, not instead of one.
Milestone Birthdays: 18th, 21st, 30th, 50th and Beyond
A milestone birthday changes the brief in one specific way — scale matters more than subtlety. The bouquet is going to be photographed, and it is going to be seen next to whatever else arrived.
18th and 21st. Bright, high-contrast and unembarrassed: gerberas, mixed seasonal colour, or a single-variety bunch in one loud colour. Pair with number balloons. A tasteful, muted bouquet is the wrong answer here — it reads as a gift for someone’s mother.
30th and 40th. This is where the loose garden style works best: garden roses, lisianthus, seasonal foliage. Generous but not shouting. Colour rather than pastel, unless you know their house is pale.
50th, 60th and above. Scale up rather than brighten up. A large single-variety bouquet — roses, peonies in season, lilies — or a substantial mixed arrangement in a vessel, which is often the kinder choice because it needs no vase and no rearranging. For a very significant birthday, an arrangement stays presentable through several days of visitors, which a hand-tied bouquet in a borrowed vase does not.
If the age itself is the joke — a rude number balloon, a bouquet in a colour they claim to hate — that works, but only from someone close enough to get away with it. From a colleague it is a misfire.
Sending to an Office, a Restaurant or Someone Who Will Be Out
Birthday deliveries fail more often than any other kind, and almost always for the same three reasons.
Nobody is home. A birthday is a day people go out. Give us a daytime address — a workplace, a neighbour, a building concierge — or pick a delivery date when someone will definitely be there. Leaving flowers on a doorstep in summer is a wasted bouquet.
The office has a post room. Large offices route deliveries through reception or a post room, and a bouquet can sit there until the end of the day. Put the recipient’s floor, team or extension in the delivery notes, not just the company name.
A restaurant needs warning. If you want flowers waiting on a table, call the restaurant first and tell them we are coming. Most are happy to hold them; almost none like being surprised at service time.
For any of these, the safest instruction is the simplest: tell us in the order notes who will actually take the flowers, and we will deliver to that person.
What to Write on a Birthday Card
The card is the part people leave blank at checkout and regret. It does not need to be clever — it needs to be specific, because “Happy Birthday” is what the flowers already say.
Name one real thing: the year you have both just had, the thing they finished, the place you last saw them. “Happy birthday — you got through this year and you did it well” beats any greeting-card line. Sign it in the way you actually speak to them.
For a colleague or a client, short and warm is right: “Happy birthday from all of us at [team]”. For someone you have fallen out of touch with, say that instead of pretending you have not: “Long overdue — happy birthday, and let us fix that this year.”
