Flower baskets

Flower Baskets — an Arrangement, Not a Bouquet

A flower basket arrives finished. The flowers are built into wet florist's foam inside the basket, so there is no vase to find, no stems to trim and nothing to arrange at the other end — the basket is set down where it is meant to stand and that is the end of it. It is the format people choose when the flowers need to hold a room rather than sit on a windowsill: a hallway table, a reception desk, a dinner table, a stand at a service. Floritta builds every basket by hand in our London studio and delivers the same day across the city. Our bloom baskets start at £49, most garden-style floral baskets are between £129 and £680, and the largest event pieces run well beyond that.

What Goes into a Bloom Basket

The house style is loose and garden-like rather than tightly domed: hydrangeas for volume, garden roses and peony roses for the centre, lisianthus, matthiola, delphinium and spray roses for movement, eucalyptus and seasonal foliage spilling over the rim. Seasonal baskets follow what is actually good that week — peony baskets through the British and Dutch peony window, sunflower baskets through late summer, orchid and rose combinations year-round. Colour ranges from all-white and cream through blush and pastel to the deep red and burgundy baskets people send for anniversaries. Scale is the real choice here: the same arrangement exists as a table-sized basket and as a floor-standing piece of two hundred stems or more.

Basket or Bouquet?

Send a bouquet when you know the recipient enjoys arranging flowers and has vases to hand. Send a basket when they do not, when they will be too busy to deal with it, or when nobody is quite sure what is in the cupboard — a new mother, an older relative, a hotel suite, an office where the flowers will be put down and left. A basket is also the more reliable gift when it is going somewhere you have never been, because it does not depend on what is there when it arrives. If you want the same idea on a smaller and more contained scale, our flower boxes do the same job in a lidded hat box; if you want cut flowers already in glass, see flowers in a vase.

When People Send Flower Baskets

Baskets suit the occasions where flowers are meant to be seen by more than one person. They go out for new babies, for congratulations on an opening or a promotion, for milestone anniversaries and big birthdays, and for office receptions and events where the arrangement has to look right for a week rather than an evening. That is also why baskets do well at Christmas, when one arrangement has to hold a reception desk or a dining table for the length of the party season — those pieces sit in our Christmas collection. They are also the traditional form for sympathy and funeral flowers, where a basket can be carried, placed and left without anyone needing to find water for it. For a corporate order or a regular arrangement for the same address, message us and we will price it as a standing order rather than as single deliveries.

Flower Basket Delivery in London

Order by 10 pm and we deliver a flower basket the same day anywhere in London and Greater London — Mayfair, Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Fulham, Southwark, Islington, Canary Wharf and the areas around them. Anything ordered after the cut-off goes out the following day. Our guide to London flower delivery cut-off times explains what that means in practice. Baskets are delivered within London and Greater London only: an arrangement in wet foam travels standing and does not survive a courier network. For an address elsewhere in England, choose a hand-tied bouquet — those we deliver nationwide in two to three working days. Delivery is charged at a flat rate and free once the order passes the free-delivery threshold shown in your basket. Large baskets are heavy and need someone to receive them, so for events, offices and venues tell us the delivery window and the entrance in the order notes and we will confirm before the day.

Looking After a Flower Basket

Top up the water and the basket looks after itself. Pour cool water gently onto the foam every second day — the foam should stay damp all the way through, and a large basket will take more than you expect — and keep the arrangement out of direct sun and away from radiators and ripening fruit. Expect seven to ten days, and longer in the cooler months. Pull out any stem that fades before it pulls its neighbours with it; the rest of the arrangement will close over the gap. Our freshness guarantee covers at least three days from delivery: if something wilts sooner, send us a photo within those three days and we will replace the arrangement.

Flower Baskets — Questions We Are Asked

Can I get a flower basket delivered the same day in London?

Yes. Order by 10 pm and we deliver the same day across London and Greater London, seven days a week. Orders after the cut-off are delivered the next day.

How much is a flower basket?

Baskets start at £49. Most garden-style bloom baskets are between £129 and £680, and large event and statement arrangements go higher. Each product shows its current price before you order.

Do flower baskets need a vase?

No. The flowers are arranged in florist's foam inside the basket and arrive finished. All that is needed is a little cool water poured onto the foam every second day.

How long does a flower basket last?

Seven to ten days as a rule, and longer in autumn and winter, provided the foam is kept damp and the basket is out of direct sun. Our freshness guarantee covers at least three days from delivery.

Can you deliver a flower basket outside London?

No — baskets, balloons and chocolate-dipped strawberries are delivered within London and Greater London only, because an arrangement in wet foam does not travel well by courier. For an address elsewhere in England, choose a hand-tied bouquet: we deliver those across the country in two to three working days.

Can I order a basket in specific colours, or a larger size?

Yes. Choose the basket nearest to what you want and leave a note with the order — a palette, a flower to include, or a larger scale — and our florists will build to it. For very large or event arrangements, message us on WhatsApp first and we will confirm what is available and quote the size.
