Floral Workshop

Floritta runs hands-on floral workshops in our own studio in Bermondsey, south-east London. Small groups, all materials and tools included, and you take home what you make. The open sessions this season are Christmas wreath workshops, running from 7 November to 13 December 2026. Private sessions for a group of up to twelve can be arranged on request.

They are taught by the florists who make our orders every day, on the same benches, with the same flowers and greenery. That is the whole idea: not a lecture about floristry, an evening of actually doing it.

What happens at a Floritta workshop?

You arrive to a bench already laid out — a ring, fresh evergreens, decorations, secateurs and wire. One of our florists shows you the build step by step: how to bind the base, how to layer the greenery so the wreath reads as full from a distance, where to place the heavier pieces so it hangs straight. Then you make your own, with someone standing over your shoulder when you want them there and leaving you alone when you don't.

Nobody leaves with the same wreath. You pick your own palette from what is on the bench, and by the end of the session the room has a dozen completely different results in it.

What do the Christmas wreath workshops cost?

For the 2026 season: £70 per person for sessions between 7 and 22 November, and £85 per person from 26 November onwards. A private session for a group of up to twelve is £850.

The price includes everything — the wreath ring, fresh evergreens, cones, dried citrus, berries, ribbon, the use of our tools, and the finished wreath, which goes home with you the same evening. There is nothing to buy on top.

When are the 2026 dates?

Sessions run from 7 November to 13 December 2026, in small groups, on set dates. Because the groups are small, a date is either open or gone — there is no waiting-room version of a wreath bench.

For the current dates and how many places are left on each, message us on WhatsApp on +44 7387 939120. If you are booking for a group, tell us the size and we will hold a whole session for you rather than splitting you across two.

How do I book a place?

WhatsApp on +44 7387 939120 is the quickest way — tell us the date you want and how many of you there are, and we confirm the places. You can also email info@floritta.uk or call +44 7458 683130.

Do I need any experience?

None at all, and most people in the room have never made a wreath before. The session is built for someone who has never held a pair of florist's secateurs. If you have made things before, you will simply get further — the florists will push you towards the harder asymmetric shapes rather than hold you to the demonstration.

Who are the workshops for?

  • Anyone who wants a fresh wreath and would rather make it. The most common reason people come.
  • Friends and family groups. Two to six people booking together, which works on any open date.
  • Company teams. A whole session booked privately, which a fair few of our customers use instead of the usual Christmas party — see corporate and business orders.
  • People who want a couple of hours away from a screen. Working with greenery is quiet, repetitive and absorbing, which is most of the appeal.

Can I book a private session for my team?

Yes. A private session takes up to twelve people and costs £850 for the group, materials and wreaths included. You choose the date rather than fitting into the open calendar, and the studio is yours for the session. Tell us the date and the headcount on WhatsApp and we will confirm what is free.

What exactly will I make?

A fresh evergreen Christmas wreath on a ring that holds its shape through the season: fir and pine for the base, eucalyptus for the silver-grey, then pine cones, dried citrus, berries and ribbon. The same materials our Christmas wreaths are built from, because they come off the same delivery.

How long will the wreath last afterwards?

On a front door in British December weather, several weeks — cold, damp air is exactly what cut evergreens want. Indoors in a heated hallway it dries out in one to two weeks, and then dries decoratively rather than dying. We wrote the full version, including when to hang it and how to keep it looking new, in how long a fresh Christmas wreath lasts.

Where is the studio?

Unit 3, The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY — Bermondsey, between Tower Bridge Road and the Old Kent Road, and within walking distance of Bermondsey and South Bermondsey stations. It is a working florist's studio rather than an events space, which is why the groups are the size they are. Directions and contact details are on our contacts page.

Do you run other kinds of flower arranging classes in London?

Our published calendar is seasonal: the wreath sessions in November and December are the ones with fixed dates. Outside that season, workshops run as private bookings — if you want a hand-tied bouquet or a table centrepiece class for a group, tell us roughly when and what you would like to make, and we will tell you whether we can host it.

What we do not run is a multi-week professional floristry diploma. This is a hands-on evening with a florist and something to take home, not a qualification — worth saying plainly, because the two get searched for in the same words.

Can I just buy a wreath instead?

Of course, and plenty of people do both — one made, one bought for the other door. Our ready-made wreaths and the rest of the festive range are in the Christmas collection, and if you want to know what is actually in season while you are there, we set that out in what flowers are in season in December in the UK.
