Rainbow flowers

Rainbow bouquets are built for maximum colour: every shade of the spectrum in one hand-tie, usually for a birthday, a celebration or a Pride occasion.

Rainbow Flowers Delivery in London

Rainbow flowers delivery runs seven days a week across London and Greater London — order by 10 PM and it goes out the same day — and two to three working days to the rest of the UK. Everything is made on the morning it travels from our studio in Bermondsey, Unit 3, The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, SE1 5SY.

Colour is the one thing that does not travel well in a photograph, so a word on expectations: a rainbow bouquet is built to be seen from across a room, and it looks brighter in life than on a screen. If you want something softer, the same idea in a muted palette is what our mixed bouquets and peach and pastel shelf are for.

How a Rainbow Bouquet Is Actually Built

Gerberas do most of the work, because they come in the cleanest, strongest colours of anything we buy — true orange, hot pink, scarlet, lemon and gold, with no muddiness in them. Around those go carnations and spray roses for the shades gerberas do not reach, and then greenery to stop the whole thing looking like a paint chart.

The greenery is the part people do not expect to matter. Without it, seven saturated colours sitting directly against each other cancel out and the bouquet reads as noise. With eucalyptus or ruscus threaded between them, each colour gets an edge and you see all of them. It is the same reason a stained-glass window has lead in it.

The second rule is that the colours are placed in spectrum order, not scattered. A genuine rainbow bouquet moves red through orange, yellow, green, blue and violet around the tie; a bouquet with the same flowers thrown in at random is just a mixed bouquet. If the rainbow itself is the point — a Pride gift, a child’s birthday, a themed party — say so in the order notes and we will build it in order.

Rainbow Roses Are Dyed, and We Do Not Sell Them

This is the single most common misunderstanding on this page, so it is worth being direct about it.

A rainbow rose is one white rose whose stem has been split into channels and fed different coloured dyes, so each section of the bloom takes a different colour. It is a real product and it is sold widely. It is not a variety, it is a process, and the dye is in the water the flower drinks.

We do not make them, for two reasons. The dye shortens the vase life, because the stem has been cut apart to carry it. And the water in the vase discolours within a day or two, which people are not warned about and then find unpleasant. A bouquet built from flowers that are genuinely those colours lasts as long as any other bouquet and does not stain anything.

If someone has specifically asked for a rainbow rose, a bouquet of naturally multicoloured roses is the closest honest answer, and the rose shelf carries them. We would rather explain the difference than send something that disappoints in three days.

Rainbow Flowers for Pride, Birthdays and Children

Three occasions account for most of what leaves this shelf.

Pride. London Pride falls at the end of June or the start of July and the demand around it is sharp and short. Order two or three days ahead in that week if the date matters — not because we run out of flowers, but because the whole city wants the same six colours at once.

Children’s birthdays. A rainbow bouquet is one of the few floral gifts a child actually reacts to, and it pairs naturally with our children’s balloon sets in the same delivery. Gerberas are also unscented and non-toxic to cats and dogs, which matters in a house with small children and animals.

Milestone birthdays for adults who do not want to be moved. A fortieth or a fiftieth where the person would rather laugh than cry gets this instead of roses. The birthday shelf has the full range if you want to compare.

It is the wrong choice for a sympathy delivery, a formal anniversary or a wedding, where a single colour or a tight two-colour palette carries far more weight. For those, white flowers or sympathy flowers are the right place to start.

What Rainbow Bouquets Cost and How Long They Last

From £35, with the middle of the shelf near £89, rising to grand baskets and event-scale arrangements at the top. Around seventeen products sit here at any time and the exact list moves with the market week.

Vase life is better than most people assume, because the flowers that carry strong colour are also the tough ones. Gerberas hold ten to fourteen days, carnations two weeks and more, spray roses about a week. That means a rainbow bouquet fades unevenly — the roses go first and the gerberas and carnations carry on — so pulling the spent stems out after a week leaves you with something that still looks deliberate. Change the water every two days rather than topping it up; the rest is on our flower care page.

Delivery charges and the free-delivery threshold are shown at checkout, because they are set in the admin panel and change from time to time.

Rainbow Flowers — Questions We Are Asked

Do you sell rainbow roses?

No — and it is worth explaining what they are, because people ask for them often. A rainbow rose is a single white rose whose stem has been split and fed different dyes so each part of the bloom takes a different colour. We do not make them. What we do make is a rainbow bouquet built from flowers that are genuinely those colours — gerberas, carnations, roses, spray roses and seasonal blooms across the full spectrum — which lasts as long as any other bouquet and does not stain the water.

What is in a rainbow bouquet?

Gerberas do most of the work, because they come in the cleanest, strongest colours of anything we buy. Around them go carnations and spray roses for the shades gerberas do not cover, and greenery to stop it looking like a paint chart. Around seventeen products sit here today, from £35 up, with the middle near £89.

What occasion suits a rainbow bouquet?

Children’s birthdays, milestone birthdays where the person would rather laugh than be moved, a new job, an exam result, and Pride. It is the wrong choice for a formal or sympathy occasion, where a single colour reads better.

Can I get one delivered today?

Yes. Order by 10 PM for same-day delivery across London and Greater London, seven days a week; two to three working days for the rest of the UK.

How long do rainbow flowers last?

Ten days to a fortnight for most of it. Gerberas and carnations are among the longest-lasting cut flowers there are; the spray roses in the mix go first, at about a week. Take the finished stems out rather than throwing the whole bouquet away — what is left still looks composed.

Is there a natural blue flower in a rainbow bouquet?

True blue is the one colour almost no flower produces, so the blue in a rainbow bouquet is usually a genuinely blue-toned flower such as delphinium or hydrangea, or a tinted chrysanthemum. We will tell you which when you ask. If a real blue matters to you, the blue flower shelf explains where the colour comes from in each case.

Can you add balloons or chocolates to a rainbow bouquet?

Yes, and they go in the same delivery with no second delivery charge. Balloon sets and sweets are London only because helium and fresh chocolate do not travel; the flowers themselves go anywhere in the UK.

Are rainbow flowers safe for children and pets?

Gerberas and most of what goes into these bouquets are non-toxic to cats and dogs, and none of it is scented enough to bother anyone. The exception across our whole range is the true lily, which is genuinely dangerous to cats — it does not go into rainbow bouquets, and if you are ordering for a household with a cat it is worth saying so on any order.
