What makes a bouquet a luxury bouquet rather than a large one?
Not the size. It is the flowers in it and how they are put together: garden roses and peony roses instead of standard stems, hydrangea heads for structure, lisianthus and seasonal foliage for movement, and a florist spending real time on the shape rather than bunching and tying. A hundred cheap stems is a big bouquet; thirty considered ones is a luxury one.
What are the best seasonal flowers in this range right now?
It moves through the year, which is the point of buying seasonally. Late summer and autumn lean on hydrangeas, garden roses, lisianthus, chrysanthemums and dahlias; late spring and early summer bring peonies; the cool months bring tulips, ranunculus and anemones.
