Flowers for International Women's Day in London
8 March is one of the two days in the year when our studio runs at full stretch, and the only one that London's calendar barely notices. For a large part of the city — Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Bulgarian, Georgian, Central Asian and Baltic Londoners, and the firms that employ them — International Women's Day is a flowers day in the same way Valentine's Day is. In 2027 it falls on Monday 8 March. Everything on this page is hand-tied to order in our studio in SE1 and delivered across London on the date you choose at checkout.
The Busiest Day Is the Day Before
Every year the same thing happens: the volume lands on 7 March, not on 8 March. People send flowers so they arrive on the eve, or first thing on the Monday morning — before the office, before the school run. Our own delivery peak for Women's Day is consistently the day before the date itself, and the second wave arrives on the morning of the 8th. If you want a specific hour on either day, ask for it early — tell us the hour on WhatsApp when you order; mornings on 7 and 8 March fill first.
What London Actually Sends on 8 March
The palette is different from February. Valentine's Day is red; Women's Day is pink, white and spring. What moves fastest in our studio in the first week of March is pink garden roses, spray roses, tulips by the armful, hydrangeas and soft pastel mixes — bouquets that read as spring rather than romance, because most of them are going to mothers, colleagues, teachers and friends rather than partners. Tulips Are the 8 March Flower
The other flower of this date is mimosa, which reaches London for about six weeks from the middle of February — what is in season in February explains why it arrives when it does and why it does not keep.
If there is one stem attached to this date, it is the tulip. In early March tulips are at their best and at their cheapest of the year, which is why a large armful of them — twenty-five, forty, fifty stems in a single colour — is the classic Women's Day gift rather than a mixed bouquet. Tulips also travel well and open in the vase over several days, so a bouquet delivered on the 7th still looks like a gift on the 10th. Keep them in shallow, cool water and out of direct sun; they will keep growing in the vase, and that is normal.
Two Occasions, One Weekend, in 2027
2027 is an unusual year: Mothering Sunday falls on 7 March and International Women's Day on 8 March. They are not the same holiday and the flowers are not interchangeable — Mothering Sunday is a British family occasion for mothers and grandmothers, Women's Day is broader and includes colleagues, friends and teams. Offices, Teams and Several Deliveries at Once
A large share of 8 March orders in London are corporate: one company, a list of names, one or two addresses. We do this every year. Send us the list on WhatsApp and we will quote per bouquet, agree a single delivery window and bring everything in one run, with individual cards. Small desk-sized bouquets in one repeated design usually work better for a team than a mix of sizes, and they photograph better for your internal channels. For an office reception, one larger arrangement plus individual stems is the usual format.

We accept orders until 10 pm every day and deliver across London seven days a week, including same-day delivery. Delivery is £4.99, and free on orders over £120. For addresses outside London, delivery takes 2–3 working days, so for a delivery on 8 March order by around 3 March to be safe. You can place an order now and choose any future delivery date at checkout — the calendar is open, so booking a 7 or 8 March delivery date months ahead is not a problem. Before your bouquet leaves the studio we send you a photo of it.
Women's Day Delivery Questions
When should I order flowers for 8 March in London?
For delivery inside London you can order right up to the day, and until 10 pm for same-day delivery. In practice the morning deliveries on 7 and 8 March fill first, so if you need a specific hour, order a few days ahead and tell us on WhatsApp. For a delivery outside London, order by around 3 March — UK delivery takes 2–3 working days.
Do you deliver on 8 March itself?
Yes. We deliver across London seven days a week, including 8 March whichever day of the week it falls on, and you choose the delivery date at checkout. If the bouquet has to arrive at a particular time, message us on WhatsApp before you order and we will confirm what we can hold.
Can you deliver Women's Day flowers outside London?
Yes. We deliver to the rest of the UK in 2–3 working days. Delivery is £4.99 and free on orders over £120, the same as in London.
Which flowers are traditional for International Women's Day?
Tulips first, then pink and white roses, spray roses, mimosa and spring bulbs. The tradition is spring flowers rather than red roses — red roses read as romantic, and most 8 March bouquets go to mothers, colleagues, teachers and friends.
Can I order several bouquets to one office address?

Is 8 March the same as Mother's Day in the UK?
No. Mother's Day in the UK is Mothering Sunday, three weeks before Easter, and the date moves every year — in 2027 it is 7 March, the day before Women's Day. International Women's Day is always 8 March and is not limited to mothers.
Can I add a card message?
Yes. You can add a personal message at checkout and we place the card with the bouquet.
Will I see the bouquet before it is delivered?
Yes. Once your bouquet is made up we send you a photo of it before it leaves the studio.
