Every magnolia variety we work with in our London studio – how to tell them apart, when they are in season and how to make them last.
Strip any leaves that will sit below the waterline and recut stems before placing in water. Woody stems benefit from a sharper, longer cut or light crushing to aid water uptake. Keep away from direct heat and draughts; the foliage is long-lasting and not very sensitive to ethylene. Mist leaves occasionally to keep the glossy finish and prevent browning edges.
