Strelitzia
Every strelitzia variety we work with in our London studio – how to tell them apart, when they are in season and how to make them last.

Caring for strelitzia
Recut stems on the diagonal and remove any debris from the bract opening. Place in clean water with flower food; top up rather than replace frequently. Strelitzia is not sensitive to ethylene and tolerates dry transport well. Flowers can be gently coaxed open by hand by easing them out of the bract.
- Remove leaves below the waterline
- Recut 2–3 cm at an angle
- Fresh water and flower food every 2–3 days
- Keep away from heaters and ripening fruit
