How to recognise it

  • Small daisy-like flowers clustered on branching stems
  • Double, button-like white or cream blooms typical of feverfew types
  • Bright yellow-green centre disc visible on single blooms
  • Fine, serrated, aromatic mid-green foliage
  • Slender, hairy stems with multiple lateral flower branches

Care

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline and recut stems at an angle before placing in fresh water. Keep away from ripening fruit and other ethylene sources, as blooms can shatter early. Keep water clean and change it regularly, as the foliage can make water cloudy quickly.

Easy to confuse with

  • Matricaria (similar small daisy button flowers)
  • Chamomile (similar foliage and flower form)
