Small star-shaped five-petalled flowers
Soft fuzzy stems and buds, slightly hairy texture
Flowers often fade to pinkish-purple as they age
Narrow heart-shaped grey-green leaves
Milky sap when stem is cut

Care

Strip any foliage that will sit below the waterline and recut stems before placing in water. Use clean water with flower food, as the milky sap can foul water quickly. Keep away from ripening fruit and other ethylene sources. Handle gently as stems and flowers are delicate and bruise easily.
