Short answer: for addresses outside London the last order date is 18 December. Inside London we deliver up to and including 24 December. Wreaths and large centrepieces go earlier than either date, because they are made in batches.
December is the one month of the year when a florist can genuinely run out. The rest of the year, ordering flowers in London is a five-minute decision you can make on the day. In December it is a decision with a deadline attached, and the deadline is not the same for everybody. Here is how the dates actually work, what sells out first, and how late you can leave it.
When is the last day to order Christmas flowers in London?
For delivery inside London we take Christmas orders up to and including 24 December. Our standard cut-off applies through December as it does the rest of the year: order by 10 pm and we deliver the same day, seven days a week. In central London most bouquets arrive within three hours of the order.
That said, 23 and 24 December are the two busiest delivery days of our year. Slots are finite, and the last ones go. If the flowers have to be there on a particular morning, book the date and the time slot at checkout rather than relying on same-day.
What is the deadline for delivery outside London?
Outside London the last order date is 18 December. Orders for the rest of the UK travel by courier and take two to three working days, and the courier networks are at their yearly peak in the week before Christmas. Eighteen December leaves room for one delay; the 20th does not.
The bouquet itself travels well. It leaves us already arranged and standing in floral foam soaked with water, not flat-packed in a letterbox carton, so it arrives finished rather than as a kit to assemble.
Do you deliver on Christmas Day?
No. Our Christmas deliveries run up to and including 24 December, and we start again after the holiday. If the flowers are meant to be on the table on Christmas Day, the sensible delivery date is the 23rd or the 24th — a fresh arrangement made two days earlier is at its best on the day, not past it.
Why do wreaths sell out before the cut-off?
A fresh Christmas wreath is not something we can make one more of at 9 pm on the 23rd. Wreaths are built by hand on a fresh evergreen base, in batches, from materials ordered weeks earlier: fir, eucalyptus, pine cones, dried oranges, berries and ribbon. When a batch is gone, it is gone until the next one, and the popular sizes go first.
The same is true of large table centrepieces and anything with candles. If you know you want a large statement wreath for a wide front door or a shopfront, the useful time to order it is November, not the week before Christmas.
How early is too early to order Christmas flowers?
You cannot order too early, because the order date and the delivery date are two different things. Place the order whenever suits you and choose your December delivery date at checkout. Nothing is made in advance and held in a cold room: your flowers are arranged in our studio on the day they go out, whether you booked them in November or that morning.
What booking early actually buys you is choice — the wreath size you wanted, the delivery slot you wanted, and the arrangement that has not sold out.
Can I still order on 23 or 24 December?
Usually yes, and people do. Same-day ordering works in December the way it works the rest of the year: order by 10 pm for delivery that day across London. We wrote up how London cut-off times compare — most florists in the city stop taking same-day orders in the early afternoon, which is worth knowing on 24 December at 4 pm.
The honest caveat is that late December is the only time of year when we can sell out of a specific item. Late ordering means taking what is available rather than what you had in mind.
A December ordering calendar
- Early to mid November. Wreaths and large centrepieces, especially in the big sizes and for offices and shopfronts.
- First week of December. The right week to hang a fresh wreath: in cold weather it holds its look for several weeks, so hanging it on the 20th wastes most of it.
- By 18 December. Everything going outside London.
- By 24 December. Everything going inside London, with the 22nd and 23rd the calmer days to choose.
- Corporate orders. Reception arrangements, client gifts and multi-address runs need a date and an address list from you before we can plan the day — tell us the numbers in November.
What if something is wrong when the flowers arrive?
Send us a photo. Our freshness guarantee is a replacement: if the flowers wilt within three days, we replace the bouquet, and that is in addition to your statutory rights. In December, tell us the same day if you can — a replacement on the 23rd is straightforward, a replacement on the 27th is a different conversation.
