Clematis

Every clematis variety we work with in our London studio – how to tell them apart, when they are in season and how to make them last.

Season: Best: June–September · available May–October J F M A M J J A S O N D
Vase life: 4–7 days
Storage: Yes, store at 2–4°C if cooler space allows, though clematis is sensitive to chilling injury so avoid prolonged very cold storage.
Cats and dogs: Toxic – keep out of reach of cats and dogs

Caring for clematis

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth. Recut stems at an angle under water before placing in a clean vase with flower food. Keep away from ripening fruit and other ethylene sources as blooms are sensitive and can fade quickly. Store in cool conditions and change water every couple of days.
