Storage: Yes, store at 2–4°C if cooler space allows, though clematis is sensitive to chilling injury so avoid prolonged very cold storage.

How to recognise it

Nodding bell-shaped or open star-shaped flowers on wiry stems
Narrow lance-shaped leaflets along thin twining or herbaceous stems
No tendrils grasping like climbing clematis, more upright habit typical of Integrifolia group
Fine ribbed sepals (petal-like), 4 per flower, slightly twisted or recurved tips
Thin green stems, can be slightly woody at base

Care

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth. Recut stems at an angle under water before placing in a clean vase with flower food. Keep away from ripening fruit and other ethylene sources as blooms are sensitive and can fade quickly. Store in cool conditions and change water every couple of days.
