Papery, winged branching stems typical of statice
Small funnel-shaped flowers clustered along one side of wiry branches
Calyx is papery and retains colour even when dry
Narrow basal leaves, often sparse or absent on the stem higher up
No strong scent

Care

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline and recut stems before placing in fresh water. Limonium is not sensitive to ethylene and has a naturally long vase life. Keep water clean and change it every few days; it tolerates low humidity well, which also makes it suitable for drying.
