How to recognise it

Woody arching stems with small oval leaves in opposite pairs
Clusters of round berries along the stem
Berries in a deep pink to ruby shade, waxy skin
No petals – sold purely as a berry stem, not a flower
Leaves can be stripped from lower stem

Care

Strip lower leaves that would sit in water. Recut stems and place in clean water with flower food. Keep away from direct heat and excess ethylene sources as berries can soften and drop. Change water every couple of days and recut stems to extend life.
