How to recognise it

Large trumpet-shaped oriental lily blooms on a sturdy upright stem
Thick lance-shaped glossy dark green leaves along the stem
Prominent long curved stamens with large pollen anthers
Buds are elongated and plump, opening in succession up the stem
Strong sweet fragrance typical of oriental lilies

Care

Remove pollen anthers carefully to prevent staining of petals, clothing and surfaces. Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline and recut stems at an angle before placing in clean water. Keep away from ripening fruit and other ethylene sources as it shortens vase life. Use flower food and change water every two days.
