Caring for ranunculus

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline and recut stems at an angle. Use clean, cool water and keep away from direct heat and draughts. Ranunculus are sensitive to ethylene, so keep away from fruit and ripening produce. Keep cool to prolong life, as they are heat-sensitive and open quickly in warm rooms.

  • Remove leaves below the waterline
  • Recut 2–3 cm at an angle
  • Fresh water and flower food every 2–3 days
  • Keep away from heaters and ripening fruit
