How to recognise it

Large-flowered (standard) rose, one bloom per stem
High-centred bud typical of large-flowered roses
Sturdy straight stem with thorns
Glossy dark green compound leaves (sets of 3–5 leaflets)

Care

Strip any leaves that will sit below the waterline and recut stems at an angle under water. Use clean buckets and fresh flower food, change water every two days. Keep away from ripening fruit and direct heat as roses are sensitive to ethylene.
