How to recognise it

Dense round pompom-like clusters of tightly packed small green structures instead of normal petals
Clusters resemble tiny green balls or buttons on branching stems
Sturdy upright stems with narrow grass-like grey-green leaves typical of Dianthus
No true petals visible, no strong scent
Multiple stems with branching heads carrying several ball clusters

Care

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline and recut stems at an angle before placing in clean water. Use flower food and change the water every two days. This variety is not ethylene sensitive in the usual sense but keep away from excess heat and direct sun to prolong life.
