How to recognise it

Multiple smaller blooms branching from one stem (spray type)
Rounded double flower heads typical of spray chrysanthemums
Mid-green, lobed, slightly serrated leaves
Firm, hairy stem
Several buds in various stages of opening on each stem

Care

Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline and recut stems at an angle under water. Use clean buckets with flower food, as chrysanthemums are heavy feeders and drinkers. They are not very sensitive to ethylene. Change water and recut every few days to prevent bacterial blockage.
