Freesias carry slender stems of trumpet-shaped flowers, often fragrant, in soft pastel shades. They are popular for adding delicate colour and a graceful line to bouquets.
Recut stems at an angle and remove any foliage that will sit below the waterline. Use clean water with flower food and keep away from ethylene sources such as ripening fruit. Keep in a cool spot out of direct sun and draughts, and change the water every two days.
