How to recognise it

Compact daisy-like flower head, smaller than standard gerbera
Single row or double row of petals around a dark or green centre disc
Thick hollow stem with little to no branching
Lobed basal-type leaves usually stripped for trade
Sturdy upright stem, often wired or supported in bunches

Care

Recut stems under water and use a clean, shallow amount of flower food solution as gerberas dislike deep water. Keep away from fruit and other ethylene sources. Avoid wetting the flower heads to prevent rot and bacterial stem collapse. Recut every few days and change water regularly.
