- Leaf underside often tinged purple
- Leaves held on upright slender petioles in a rosette

Care
Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged, using room-temperature water; avoid letting it dry out or sit in water. Keep away from direct sun and draughts, and maintain high humidity. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust rather than using leaf shine products.

- Calathea 'White Fusion' is the same cultivar name variant
- Calathea orbifolia – larger rounder silver-striped leaves
- Stromanthe sanguinea 'Triostar' – similar variegation but pink-red leaf underside
