How to recognise Orange tulip, when it is in season and how to keep it fresh.

Vase life: 5–7 days
Storage: Store in the cooler at around 2–5°C, standing in shallow water.

How to recognise it

Closed cup-shaped bud, colour may not be fully visible when closed
Smooth, slightly waxy petals
Thick, smooth round stem that keeps growing after cutting
Broad, fleshy, slightly waxy grey-green leaves
No scent or very faint scent

Care

Trim stems at an angle and place in shallow cool water, as tulips drink heavily and stems continue to elongate after cutting. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight to stop bending and over-opening. Do not mix with daffodils unless the daffodils have been conditioned separately, as their sap can harm tulips. Change water regularly as it clouds quickly.
