Hydrangeas produce large, rounded clusters of tiny petals in shades of blue, pink, white or green. Florists use their full blooms as striking focal points that add volume to bouquets and arrangements.
Recut stems under water and remove any foliage that sits below the waterline. Hydrangeas drink heavily, so keep vases topped up and mist the heads to prevent wilting. If a head droops, dip the cut stem end in boiling water for a few seconds or submerge the whole bloom in water for an hour. Keep away from direct heat and draughts.
